The Open Day for the next intake will take place on 31
January 2006
The scheme has about thirty
trainees with six Training Practices and twelve General Practice
Trainers.
The hospital component has four rotations; each consists
of four six-month appointments, in A&E, Paediatrics, O&G, Medicine,
Psychiatry, ENT/Eye, Orthopaedics/ Urology/ Rheumatology.
The
community training involves Palliative care, Women's Health,
Dermatology/ Rheumatology as SHOs and the final year is spent
in the General Practice as a Registrar.
Weekly half-day course, predominantly concentrating to nurture
the Trainee to the General Practice set up. The General Practice
Registrars and the VTS Hospital Trainees attend this. Some of
the topics discussed are: Information Technology, Audits, Medical
Politics, Practice Management, General Practice finances, Minor
Surgery, Premises and Palliative care.
We also conduct two Residential Courses packed with fun, educational
activities and rich food!
The scheme has a high success rate in DCH, DRCOG & MRCGP examinations.
