MMC has two main components: the Foundation Training Programme & the Specialist Training Programmes.
The GP section of the Deanery is heavily involved in both: because most Foundation doctors will spend time learning in general practice and because the old GPVT Schemes will be refashioned into new programmes of Specialist Training for General Practice.
Foundation programmes started in Aug 2005 and
the first Foundation doctors to work in general practice will start
in August 2006. Specialist Training for General Practice begins properly
in August 2007 but many schemes have already started innovative programmes
of training.
A great deal has been done but there is a great deal more to do. Please tell us if you need help or if you have help to offer.....
