Academic Skills Training

There will be a small amount of funding available for East of England Deanery registrars, expecting to complete their training in or around February 2007, to undertake a further period of training to gain academic skills to enhance their future career as a GP.

There will be 1 post at the University of East Anglia.

Registrars would be expect to spend between three to four sessions per week in a training practice under the supervision of an approved trainer. The remainder of the week would be spent undertaking the chosen areas of training or research.

Timetable for submission of applications:
Expected Date of Completion of Training Programme to the point of certification Submit Applications to the Deanery Office by Applicants to be notified whether successful by
1 January - 31 March 2006 3 November 2006 December 2006

Please be aware that approval of funding for an academic skills placement is subject to the satisfactory completion of all modules of summative assessment. There must be evidence within the deanery office that all components have been passed before a candidate can commence a period of academic skills training. This includes the Structured Trainer's Report.
