Approval for training practices is granted in two parts: The practice is examined to ensure that it provides an appropriate learning environment. It must provide a good example both of clinical care and of management. The infrastructure must be sound, the records of high quality and the team committed to learning. The trainer, or trainers, are examined independently to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge of practice and of education, skills appropriate to one-to-one teaching and educational management, and attitudes supportive of learning. The standards which practices and trainers must meet are determined nationally and interpreted locally. Current East of England Deanery standards are available from the Training Standards page. Contacts If you have any queries, doubts or difficulties about the process or gaining approval please contact Alison Flanagan, at the Regional Office, or your local Course Organisers, for further information.
