The Trainer's Grant GP Trainers receive a standard payment when they are training a registrar. In some circumstances trainers have extra responsibilities and may be able to receive extra payment. Examples include training an extra registrar for a period or training a 'remedial' registrar. This document explains the rules:--> Download The Trainer's Education Grant In 2005 all GP Trainers were eligible for a grant of £750 to defray the costs of their own continuing education as educators. This may be spent however each trainer wishes: attendance at Deanery courses, trainers' workshops, in-house education, conferences, books.... Distribution of the grant was through the Deanery. Trainers applied individually for the grant and provided information about their current and planned learning activities related to their role as a trainer, using the forms below. This CPD information will be held on file so that it can be discussed at trainer re-approval visits. The CPD form is a simple record of activity and intent - we do not require certificates of attendance, receipts etc. The grant is taxable but costs incurred in remaining up-to-date for your job as a trainer are tax-deductible.Trainers who are approved for only part of the year may expect to receive a pro-rata grant. The first grant year ran from 1 Apr 2005 to 31 Mar 2006.
